The rapid expansion and use of gene therapy globally have made it critical to organize, structure and strengthen efforts in this fast-moving field. The Gene Therapy Institute was formed to support these critical administrative, recruiting and infrastructural needs. Our faculty have uniquely positioned the Institute as a global leader in this area, with end-to-end capabilities ranging from fundamental science to clinical trials and, ultimately, commercialization.
Our Mission
The Gene Therapy Institute advances gene therapy from discovery to clinical application by:
- Building an interdisciplinary community of scientists, clinicians, trainees, and partners across Ohio and around the world.
- Providing enabling infrastructure and shared resources that give investigators access to cutting-edge gene therapy vectors, delivery technologies, and research capabilities.
- Educating and training the next generation of gene therapy leaders across science, medicine, law, business and related disciplines.
- Fostering strategic partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration to accelerate innovative discoveries atoward transformative clinical trials and ultimately patient care.
