The rapid expansion and use of gene therapy globally have made it critical to organize, structure and strengthen efforts in this fast-moving field. The Gene Therapy Institute was formed to support these critical administrative, recruiting and infrastructural needs. Our faculty have uniquely positioned the Institute as a global leader in this area, with end-to-end capabilities ranging from fundamental science to clinical trials and, ultimately, commercialization.

Our Facilities
Pelotonia Research Center
The Pelotonia Research Center opened in June 2023 and offers an innovative and modern environment that houses several of the Gene Therapy Institute's core research laboratories.
Biomedical Research Tower
Located on The Ohio State University campus, the world-class Biomedical Research Tower stands 12 stories tall and offers further space for Gene Therapy Institute research laboratories.
Wiseman Hall
Located next door to the Biomedical Research Tower on The Ohio State University campus, Wiseman Hall provides additional space for researchers within the Gene Therapy Institute.
Intraoperative MRI
Our faculty are leading two ongoing gene therapy clinical trials utilizing our state-of-the-art neurological operating room, equipped with intraoperative MRI.
