Defne Amado, MD, PhD is a physician-scientist and Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she cares for people living with ALS. Dr. Amado’s lab specializes in the development of gene therapy for ALS, FTD, and related disorders. Her lab uses advanced gene modulation tools, coupled with novel CNS-targeting delivery methods including engineered AAV capsids, to uncover and treat novel therapeutic targets using cell and mouse models of disease.
